Trialled in the last game of 1906, Suhr played in a team that was easily beaten and didn't return to Melbourne the next year. He played a second VFL game in 1911, this time for St Kilda.
A successful designer and builder, Suhr later became St Kilda's Saints president. He served in the role for two years before dying while in office in 1930 after a long illness.
