Sandringham vs Geelong
Sunday 8 September
Venue: TEAC Oval
Geelong win by 90 points
Aaron Rogers 3, Daniel Breese 1
The Cats boasted 15 players with AFL experience against four on the Zebras side, and Sandringham were duly mauled by their older, bigger opponents.
Despite kicking into the wind in the first quarter the Cats were dominant. Despite being held to two goals in the second term they stopped Sandringham from capitalising on their advantage and only inaccurate kicking stopped the match from being over at the long break.
It didn't help the Zebra cause that Ross Funcke and Mark Jamar were lost to injury before half-time. Anthony McDonald had 34 touches and Brad Miller 20. Best were McDonald, Miller and Clark.
