Biggest loss at Moorabbin
Barassi had flogged his side unmercifully after their Round 4 loss against the Saints and had seen them respond by not winning another game for the season.
The Saints toyed with them for the first half before drawing away in the second and rampaging to victory in the last. It was the third time for the year that the side had scored a point or less in the final quarter.
Dragged from the ground during the second quarter Mark Jackson gave his own bench a massive spray. He returned in the third quarter and booted his side's only goal of the second half. Crosswell had already provided entertainment to the Moorabbin crowd by engaging in a running verbal battle with them during the quarter.
Barassi said "I've come to the conclusion that there's a few players not good enough". With his side sitting 1-13 it was another great moment of understatement. It was Melbourne's biggest ever loss at Moorabbin.
Crosswell, Keenan and Fowler were best. Keenan suffered a calf injury.
