Melbourne lost again, another defeat set up by a terrible first quarter. They nearly broke even across the rest of the match but the damage had already been done in the opening term.
Baquie was one of Melbourne's best despite having had to leave the game against Carlton a week earlier after suffering an accidental kick to the head.
Connole, Incigneri, Lugton, Lilley and Daly were also amongst the best.
