First Goal
Wally Steele
After failing to kick a goal a week earlier, the Redlegs booted five in the first quarter to set up an easy victory. Their task was assisted by the visitors missing several good players, and they were lucky that the game started in dry conditions because when rain came the two sides were even.
Fitzroy shaved four points off the lead over the middle two quarters before being restricted to just two points in the final term as the home side won comfortably.
Best were McGinis, Steele and Moysey.
