The cousin of Stan Wittman was bought to the city by Carlton in 1924, but he was by rights a Melbourne player and he began training with the Redlegs instead.

Hardiman didn't play any senior games, and was cleared to St Kilda before Round 4, 1928 but failed to appear in a senior game.
