The club's second gaming venture was opened in 1997, but until 2011 the gaming club was a separate entity to the football club. Members of the Bentleigh Club passed a motion in May 2011 to merge the two clubs with a yes vote of 98%.

The merger transferred the gaming club's debt to the football club but provide the MFC with a property asset. In June 2021, Melbourne announced it would sell the club in 2022.
