1873 player.

Club secretary in 1898 and from 1900 to 1906, Norcott presided over the Redlegs' first premiership victory but was dismissed after back-to-back wooden spoon seasons.

In early 1908 he made a surprise comeback, challenging incumbent George Beachcroft and beating him 457 to 388 in an election for the secretary job. He only remained in the job through that year before leaving again for personal reasons.

In 1911 he returned to the club as an elected committeeman, but was defeated for reelection in 1912 and finished eighth of nine candidates in 1913. He was unsuccessful again in 1914 - where he finished last in voting - and in 1915.

He was reportedly fond of the phrase "Give three hearty British cheers for Melbourne", and was well known in theatrical/musical circles. Norcott also a foundation member and first secretary of the Old Scotch team.

Notes
Some sources show him as secretary in 1899 but it's reported at the time that it was GW Lamb.

His obituary suggests he was the nephew of Henry Harrison. Died aged either 73 or 75 years depending on reports.
