Recruited in September 1933 from the Riverina District. Remained at the club until 1935 but didn't play a senior game.

Burt enlisted in the Army in December 1942 and served until 1946. He was with the HQ 2 Division at discharge.

In June 1946, he was severely injured in a stabbing while working as a barman in Leeton.
