Melbourne 12.30 (half time 0-5)
Melbourne win by 12 goals
Goalkickers: Booth 5, McKenzie 2, F. Baker 2, Power 1, Aitken 1, Roberts 1
The visitors brought a strong side to Sandhurst, and totally outclassed the locals in a brutal performance. Sandhurst won the toss, kicked with a strong breeze and had the first opportunity of the day but failed to convert.
From there on the avalanche began, and by half time Melbourne had scored five goals. In the second half they had the wind and added seven more. It could have been an even bigger margin if Melbourne hadn't missed several easy chances.
Best were McKenzie, Boys and Power.
Bennie captained Melbourne.
Notes
Played on the same day as a match against Seymour. This was the senior side.
Some sources show the score as 12.29
