The Demons avenged their loss in the Qualifying Final against the Magpies to book themselves a spot to play Brisbane in the Grand Final the following Saturday.

A third quarter blitz of ten goals to one set up the victory after an even first half and George Gorozidis and Stephen Wearne were dominant in the second half with all their goals coming after the break.

In wet conditions the experience of players like Rod Keogh and Brent Heaver helped them over the line.
