DOB: January 23, 1982
From: Clontarf Ireland, Selection 15, 2000 Rookie Draft
A lightly framed Dubliner recruited during the second wave of Irish imports into the AFL, Devine was forced to undergo a fitness program to improve his strength and put on five kilograms in his first couple of months with the club.
He had almost ended up at the Western Bulldogs, but with the two clubs unable to decide between Devine and fellow Irishman Bernie Collins they tossed a coin and the Demons ended up Devine who was a year younger.
Recruiting Manager Craig Cameron suggested at the time that if Devine had travelled to the AFL Draft Camp he'd have ranked the second best athlete there.
Despite being groomed as a future half-back flanker, winger or half-forward flanker her never made it past the Sandringham seconds (14 games) and returned to Ireland at the end of the 2001 season.
Wore Number 48 in his time at the club.
