June 1869 match vs South Yarra

Saturday 26 June - Melbourne Ground

Melbourne 2
South Yarra 0

Melbourne win

Goalkickers: Larry Bell 1, Charles Carr 1

Melbourne won the toss and kicked with a slight breeze, with most of the wind blowing across the ground. It took until 4pm for Melbourne to open the scoring through Bell, and a few minutes before the close of play Carr scored the winning goal.

Newspaper reports indicate the game was restarted after the second goal so it may have been played under the 'most goals wins' format
