The Demons bounced back from their first loss of the year, to register a fourth consecutive win over 50 points against the Eagles. Having only conceded an average of one goal a game in their three previous meetings, Melbourne had the extra advantage of kicking with a strong wind in the first quarter and registered four goals to nil by the first change. After two opening term goals, Eden Zanker then kicked three into the wind to equal Melbourne's record for most goals in a game by half time. She didn't kick another, but by three quarter time the Eagles were still goalless and the margin had blown out to over 11 goals.
With their second chance to use the wind, the Eagles kicked the only three goals of the final term, matching their total in the previous 15 quarters against Melbourne.
Best were Zanker, McNamara, and Hanks.
