Medium-size rebounding defender, selected with Melbourne's third pick in the 2019 Draft. Played nine games in his first season, impressing in the last five weeks of the season after breaking back into the side.
Rivers found a permanent spot in the Demon defence in 2021, and was nominated for the Rising Star in Round 11. He played every game for the year, culminating in Melbourne's Grand Final victory. His 2022 was not as successful, starting the year in the side but finding himself back in the VFL midway through the year, returning in Round 18 and playing out the year in the seniors. He again appeared in every game in 2023.
