St Kilda 0 (half time 1-0)

Neither player was able to muster more than 18 players.

St Kilda won the toss and kicked with a strong wind but Melbourne was first to attack. After they only registered a behind the visitors had their turn. Melbourne's defence was too strong, and they worked the ball forward for Baker to kick the opener. St Kilda had their chances but missed easy shots. When rain fell half time was called, and while the wind had disappeared by the restart the rest of the game was played on a wet, slippery surface. C. Baker had a goal disallowed, before Nicholas kicked the second.

Nicholas got the second goal, and the rest of the game was unproductive on a wet, slippery surface.

Best were Sillett, John Bennie and James Bennie.
