Melbourne win by 2 goals

After a draw and a loss to start the season, the 1875 runners-up finally got their first win of the season. They had to do it the hard way with only 18 players turning up for the game.
It took Melbourne until late in the first half to register a goal through Cullen. The Imperialists equalised shortly after, but when the sides switched at half time Melbourne soon got the winner.
Best were Longden, James Bennie and Bob Sillett
