Match drawn
Only 10 of the visiting players turned up, requiring Albert Park to play with substitutes, and the game to start late at 3.30pm. Melbourne immediately took the ball forward at the kick off, and with a few exceptions the majority of the game was played in front of Albert Park's goal. They were kept out by strong defence until the game was called off at 5.20pm.
Best were James Byrne, Larry Bell and Barker.
