Defender who played two games for Richmond in 1924 before returning for two more with Melbourne four years later. In the interim he had been at Stawell in 1924, Port Fairy in 1925, South Ballarat in 1926 and Watchem for a flag in 1927.

After playing his two games for Melbourne in three days over a holiday weekend he was cleared to Kyneton before Round 12, 1928 where he won another premiership. Beare was also at Daylesford in 1930, Sale for a premiership in 1931, Kyneton for another premiership in 1932, Griffith for yet another flag in 1933, Sorrento in 1934 and Kyneton again in 1935. In 1936 he coached the Fitzroy Seconds, and Old Xaverians in 1946.
