September 1867 match vs South Yarra

South Yarra 1
Melbourne 0

Match drawn

In the last club match of the season Melbourne's disappointing year - with no wins against seniors sides - came to an end with the side behind on the scoreboard but saved by the 'two goals to win' rule.

South kicked with the wind and had the only goal of the game after half an hour. When the sides switched and the reds had their chance they couldn't equalise.

Best for Melbourne were visiting Carlton players Hillsden and O'Brien.
