North Melbourne win by 7 points
3 - Cameron Bruce
With Melbourne's chances of playing finals hanging on by the thinnest of threads, and North playing to consolidate their place in the eight it was no surprise that the Roos were the better side early. They took a slender five point lead into the firs tbreak, but booted the first three of the second term to extend the gap to 22.
They were still 21 points in front at the last change, but wary of a Melbourne side who had stormed back to win against Carlton the week before.
They did charge again, and when Cameron Bruce kicked his career best sixth - after four goals in the first half - the Demons were level. Shannon Grant then goalled from a dubious free kick and Daniel Wells kicked the sealer before Brad Green brought the margin back under ten points with a late goal.
