Premiership player - 1960

1957 Under 19's graduate who had a slow start to his career, breaking the same shoulder twice within six months between the end of that season and 1958.

Once he finally got his go in 1960 Nilsson impressed as a rover and forward pocket, retaining his place in the side right through to the Grand Final triumph. After a delayed start due to a broken wrist in a practice match he was a regular again in 1961 but found opportunities limited in his last two years at the club.

Moved to South Melbourne in 1964 where he spent two seasons playing on the wing for the Swans.

In 1966 Nilsson became captain/coach of South Warrnambool.
