The nephew of former St Kilda player Eric Guy, joined Melbourne after captain/coaching Carrum to a premiership in the Mornington Peninsula League. When he left, Carrum was on a 32 game winning streak. Guy debuted in Round 1, 1975 and played the first 15 games of the year. A dislocated shoulder ended his season, and he didn't return until Round 10, 1976. He played seven games to finish the year, before joining VFA side Frankston in 1977. From 1978 to 1980 he played for Dandenong.
