The cousin of Ron Barassi played Fourths and Thirds in 1955, then Thirds until 1958 and some Reserves games.

After leaving Melbourne he played football in Townsville, New Guinea and at Strathmore - where he was president and coach between 1965 and 1969.

In 1970 he joined Collingwood as a trainer.
