Strong ruckman who was cleared to Melbourne aged 26 in May 1910. He had played for Richmond in 1905 and 1906 before joining Preston for the start of the 1908 season.
Hendrie retired shortly after his last game in Round 4, 1915. He was injured during the war while serving in the 59th Battalion but floated the idea of a comeback in 1919 which never materialised.
