Williamstown win by 2 goals

In front of a large crowd the Williamstown partisans saw their side register a second win for the year against the oldest club in the land. George Aitken returned as Melbourne captain after a few weeks out, and his side opened the game with two goals in a row. That was as good as it got for them, with a strong defensive effort being forced to keep the home side out before Melbourne registered another three behinds.
Williamstown finally got their first goal of the second half, and they went on to win easily in the second period of the game
Billy Carroll, McCrindle and Franks were Melbourne's best.
