Sydney win by 24 points
1 - Travis Johnstone
Jeff White (also with Fremantle)
Jeff White celebrated his 150th game with a strong performance at either end of the ground. He kept Barry Hall quiet early before moving forward in the second half for three goals. David Neitz also had three goals early, and six of his side's first eight.
Sydney kicked ten goals to three in the last term to overturn a 20 point deficit. It was the second week in a row that the Demons had suffered an avalanche of goals in the fourth quarter. The Swans had 16 inside 50's in the last term and scored from 13 of them against the undermanned Demon defence.
Best were Neitz, White and Yze.
An understandably concerned Neale Daniher said "It was a shocker. They ran so much harder and worked the ball away from the centre even though we got first hands on it. "It looked like our blokes couldn't run out a full game and that's two weeks in a row."
On the Monday after the match a disgruntled supporter delivered 28 chicken hearts to the Junction Oval.
