From: Subiaco/Carlton

The leading goalkicker at Subiaco in 1945 was recruited by Carlton two years later, aged 24, and kicked nine goals in three games before stunning the club by walking out and returning home.

After a year back in Western Australia he played in Melbourne's 1949 practice games but did not play senior matches for the club.
