Thomas Herbert Arrowsmith played football under the assumed named 'Tommy Ryan'. He was with Richmond in the VFA from 1893 to 1895, and Carlton in 1895. Was back at Richmond in 1897.

The follower/forward joined Melbourne in 1899 and kicked five goals on debut. He played four seasons with the Redlegs before being cleared to St Kilda in May 1904, where he spent one season for 11 games.
