Rover who was recruited alongside his twin brother Michael in 1971. The Demons had originally approached him in 1970 but he turned them down to spend another year in the amateurs.
Even in his most fruitful season, Ritterman started as the 20th man in most of his matches and after playing nine games in 1973 he was axed and joined Oakleigh in the VFA. That year he and Michael represented Australia at the Maccabiah Games in Israel. In 1975 and 1976 he was at Caulfield, before being reinstated as an amateur in 1977 and playing at Ajax. He was back at Ajax in 1990, and was elected President of the club at the end of the year.
