Thirds half-forward flanker from 1950 to 1954, who was promoted to the senior list in June 1954. Webster graduated to the seniors for three games in 1955.

Joined VFA side Sandringham in 1956 and was made captain in 1959. He played 155 games in total for them including the 1962 premiership, and Grand Finals in 1960 and 1963. he won the 1961 Best and Fairest and was a VFA state representative in 1960.

Webster was later named as captain and centreman in the Zebras team of the century.
