Ruck and half-forward who played two senior games for VFA side Brighton at the end of 1928. That season he was also named the Best and Fairest player in the A-Grade amateurs for his performances with Grammarians.
Melbourne was forced to win a clearance for him after it was discovered, at the last minute, that he'd lived in the St Kilda local zone for the previous three years. From there he was a lightly used player across three seasons, including a broken ankle in 1930.
His VFL career ended with a Seconds premiership in 1931 before returning to Caulfield Grammarians the next year, where he was won the VAFA Best and Fairest award.
Also a member of Australia's water polo team.
