The journeyman rover managed just eight games in six seasons across three clubs. He started his career at South Melbourne and played three games in 1934 - his most productive season - before three in two years with Melbourne.
In his second game with Melbourne, he injured his knee, which caused him to miss the rest of the season. He returned to training in 1936 but the injury was still hampering him and the club sent him away for surgery in August. He returned for one last game at the end of 1937.
After being dropped from the Demons' list in the 1938 pre-season he joined Fitzroy and played one game that year. He was cleared to Essendon midway through that year but didn't play another game. In 1940 he joined Coburg.
His brother Jack played with Melbourne's Seconds in 1936.
