Recruited at 17-years-old after playing senior football in Shepparton at 15, Kevin 'Wayne' Delmenico played one Reserves game during 1971 made his senior debut late the next year. He remained on Melbourne's senior list until the end of 1975. The defender's best season was his last, as he played senior 14 games.

After leaving Melbourne, Delmenico played with North Darwin, then signed with South Fremantle in 1976. He played 128 games in eight seasons for the Swans, won a premiership in 1980 and represented Western Australia in 1981. He retired from WAFL football at the end of 1983 and captain/coached the Canning and Fremantle teams until the end of 1987. During the 1980s he also worked as part of Melbourne's scouting team in Western Australia.
