From the Shepparton area. Trained with the club before the 1940 season.

In 1947 while playing for Sandringham he was again linked with a move to Melbourne, but stayed with the Zebras when it became clear the club wouldn't clear him. In 1948 he joined Richmond for 12 games, and after failing to win a clearance to Lilydale in the 1949 pre-season suffered two dislocated shoulders.

After his VFA career he captain-coached Croydon in 1950 and Lilydale in 1951, before playing with Freighters from 1952 to 1953.
