Roy McKay

After 101 games with Footscray between 1930 and 1935, McKay joined Brunswick as playing coach from 1936 to 1940. There he won a VFA premiership in 1938 and made two other grand finals before joining Melbourne as Seconds coach from 1945 to 1947.

In 1948 he moved to coaching the Thirds, remaining in charge through 1956. Seconds coach from 1956 to 1958 and again in both 1962 and 1963 and then from 1966. He was also the inaugural coach of the Fourths in 1953.

His nephew Ken played for the Thirds in the early 1950s while he was coach, and his son Noel played Seconds in 1957 and 1958.
