Despite kicking the first goal of the game after a minute, the Demons went into quarter time 16 points behind after conceding five of the next six.
With GWS suffering multiple injuries, they reduced the margin to two at half time, before kicking away in the second half. Their lead extended to 18 at three quarter time before winning by 34 points.
Best were Gawn, Pickett and Langdon. Jake Melksham was unused medical substitute. Clayton Oliver and Jack Viney were fined $1000 for engaging in a melee. Charlie Spargo was fined $2000 for striking.
