1940 pre-season full-back who had been the 1939 captain of the Victorian amateur representative team. He opted to sign for Richmond instead, though Hawthorn also tried to claim him as he'd lived in their zone two years earlier and trained at Glenferrie Oval.
Also a district cricket player for University and Hawthorn-Malvern. He later served as president of the Victorian Cricket Association and Treasurer of the Australian Cricket Board.
