Claud Henry "Harry" Rigby was born in Kyneton before moving to Tasmania to play for Burnie. He joined Carlton at 22 years old, and played 29 games for the club as a wingman before leaving Princes Park at the end of 1902.
After playing with West Richmond in 1903, and Richmond in 1905 and 1906 the centreman joined Melbourne in 1907. Rigby played 27 games before leaving at the end of 1908.

Notes
Some sources show him winning the 1909 Stawell Gift as a 31-year-old. This was a different Harry Rigby. May still have gone to Tasmania to become a sprinter in 1908.
