Wingman member of Melbourne's first VFL team who joined the club before the 1897 season.

Missed the entire 1898 season before moving to South Melbourne, where his brother had played in the VFA. He played for Victoria in 1901 and saw out his VFL career at the club before joining the Essendon VFA side in 1905.

In 1917 he enlisted in the Army and served in the Base Records Corps.
