Fourths graduate first called up to the Thirds in 1959, before making his senior debut two seasons later. After captaining the Reserves and leading their goalkicking in 1964 he trained at Fitzroy in the 1965 pre-season, before joining Hawthorn. After four senior games with the Hawks he was cleared to Fitzroy in mid-1965, remaining with the Lions until the end of 1966.
Played for VFA side Waverley in 1967.
