1891 to 1896 VFA player who made his name in Melbourne's VFL side as a pacy and powerful centreman. The Australasian named him as one of the best centres in the league in 1896, and he was a regular in the side until 1901 when he suffered an injury that was at one point thought likely to end his career.

He later served as a groundsman at the MCG for over 36 years, and as a trainer for the side in 1910.

Played one season with Richmond in 1890.
