Tied to Melbourne as a Next Generation Academy player, Moniz-Wakefield was listed by the Demons after not being picked by any other club in the national draft. Had previously played senior football for Nightcliffe in the Northern Territory league. He played with Casey Demons during 2022, including their 2022 VFL premiership, and signed a contract extension to remain on the rookie list in 2023. Didn't not play a senior game in 2023, but was elevated to the senior side in late 2024 after impressive form as a defender in the VFL and played six games.
