2005 high school All-Australian who was drafted to the AFL with a reputation as a dead eye set shot kick in junior football. He debuted late in 2008 and played five of the last six matches of the season, but suffered a disappointing second season where he only managed to play one more game than his debut year. His season was ended when he injured his shoulder in a Casey Scorpions VFL match.

In August of 2009, Maric was fined $5000 for gambling on an AFL match. He put a bet on the Western Bulldogs vs Collingwood match for a friend and admitted that he had done it after an AFL anti-gambling lecture.

2010 proved an even more frustrating year as despite being fit for almost all of the season and often featuring in the Casey best players he only managed one match for the season.

Season 2011 seemed like a turning point for Maric, with great form in the pre-season but his start to the AFL season was disappointing and he was soon dropped back to the Casey Demons. He returned in Round 7 with a game high 31 disposals against Adelaide and kicked three goals the next week against North Melbourne a week later, but dropped after Round 10 he returned for just three more matches and was out of the team again by Round 20.

Maric requested a trade at the end of the season and was initially linked with North Melbourne who went as far as interviewing him but North's interested cooled and he failed to find himself another club despite coming out of contract at the end of the season.

He was later selected by Richmond in the Rookie Draft and debuted for them in the first game of 2012, playing ten games for the season - the majority as substitute - before being delisted for a second time at the end of the season. Despite training with Richmond in the hope of being drafted again, Maric was not picked up in the 2012 Rookie Draft.
