From: St Paul's/Sandringham Dragons, Selection 53, 2005 National Draft

Number: 1 2007-2009

After spending his first season and a half with the club playing for VFL affiliate Sandringham, Buckley made his senior debut in the second half of 2007 and became a permanent fixture in the side the next year.

He achieved a career high of 32 disposals in Round 21 of that year and averaged 21 disposals and 8 marks for the year.

Buckley played in Round 1, 2009 but was then sidelined with an injury that stopped him from playing any more senior games that year. He made a comeback later in the year with the Casey Scorpions VFL side but was delisted at the end of the season.

Collingwood picked him up in the National Draft but despite a string of impressive performances for their VFL side Buckley was unable to break into the Magpies senior team during 2010.

He played in the Magpies winning NAB Cup team in 2011, making his debut for them in the first round of that season and playing 13 games but being dropped before their finals campaign. He failed to recapture his spot and suffered the same fate the next year - playing 13 games but missing the finals before being delisted.
