Biggest win and highest score against Port Adelaide
The unbeaten Port Adelaide travelled to the MCG, where they had a 4-16 record since joining the league, to play a Melbourne side who seemed revitalised in 2004. Power, though, had kicked a club record score against Hawthorn the week before.
Brad Green was best on ground with 31 touches, and David Neitz booted 6.4. Alistair Nicholson also held the dangerous Warren Tredrea to two goals.
It was the Demons third win in a row, and it seemed that the rollercoaster Daniher era was going to continue with another winning season.
It was Port's biggest loss against the Demons, and the first time Melbourne had won three in a row since the last three weeks of 2001.
Russell Robertson was reported for striking and suspended for one match.
