Melbourne avenged their earlier loss to the lowly Crows, moving back to the top of the ladder with a comfortable win. The margin was as much as 28 minutes midway through the second quarter before an Adelaide comeback cut the gap to three points during the third term. From there, the Crows were restricted to just two more goals.
Bayley Fritsch kicked a career high seven goals, including Melbourne's last five of the game. His last three goals came in the final three minutes of the match.
Best were Harrison Petty, Jake Lever and Fritsch. Aaron vandenBerg was the unused substitute, in what would ultimately be his final game for the club.
