A defender elevated from the rookie list in 1998, Bishop gave two years of service before being traded to Port Adelaide for pick #42 in the 1999 Draft (Michael Clark). He became one of the Power's most reliable defenders and played in their 2004 Premiership side before being delisted at the end of the 2006 season.

In 2011 Bishop was Port Adelaide's Football Services Manager.
