Centre half-forward who Showed promise but suffered injuries during the year and was restricted to six games. In 1928 he'd intended to join North Melbourne but was prevented from joining them by a permit technicality. Wodonga had let him go but the VFL didn't get the clearance from his league in time.

Played for Melbourne in 1932, and was cleared to Wangaratta early in 1933, and kicked 85 goals in a premiership season. In 1934 he joined Leeton.

Nolan's brothers Clarrie and Jack played league football with North Melbourne.
