Drafted after making the 1996 TAC Cup Team of the Year, Lamaro spent 1997 in Melbourne's Reserves. He debuted in Round 1, 1998, but only played once more as a late inclusion in Round 9 and was delisted at the end of the season.
Lamaro returned to Euroa in 1999, winning their 2002 Best and Fairest and playing there until 2008. In 2002 he was a fill-in for the Carlton VFL side.
In 2009 Lamaro played for Craigieburn, then coached Mernda in 2010. In 2011 he went to Violet Town, player/coaching there until 2013.
